Hemp is among the most concentrated protein sources of all the plant foods, is easy to digest and low in saturated fat.  A product of the Cannibis plant, hemp protein contains about 80% essential fatty acids and fiber.  It is also a complete protein- containing all 21 known amino acids, including the 9 essential ones that our adult bodies cannot produce.  Without these amino acids, your body cannot build nor repair muscle protein.

Natural Whey Protein Isolate

Whey protein is a byproduct of cheese production, which used to be discarded by the manufacturers for many years.  However, because of its unique health benefits, it is now sold as a supplement.

Through the whey isolate manufacturing process, excess lactose and fat is removed, providing you with the most pure forms of complete protein available.

Adding high quality whey protein isolate to your normal diet has numerous benefits.  It assists your body in increasing muscle mass, decreases recovery time and symptoms of over-training as well as gives the body’s immune system a boost.

Mavenshake’s whey protein isolate is produced from raw milk from grass-fed cows using a cold microfiltration process.

Natural Pea Protein

Peas are usually thought of as a vegetable, but are actually a legume and a good, plant-based source of protein.

The peas are ground up, de-fatted and then used as a powder, with many benefits over animal or other vegetable proteins as they are easily digested, lacks allergens and contains ideal amino acids for sports performance that help maintain tissues during exercise and restore nitrogen balance after a heavy workout.

Pea protein has even higher levels of protein over your good ol’ garden variety pea and does not cause flatulence! Aside from the lofty protein content, pea protein is also rich in numerous other vitamins and nutrients.

Organic Chia

You may be familiar with Chia from the popular novelty planters, “Chia Pets”. However, the seed is the undeniably the most valuble part of the plant. It was a major component in Aztec and Mayan diets, used to nourish and energize warriors, used medicinally to treat joint pain and soreness.

Chia is an edible seed with a nutty flavor. It is very rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and fiber. Chia provides calcium, phosphorus, manganese, magnesium, copper, iron, molybdenum, niacin and zinc. These nutrients help prevent hypertension and maintain a healthy weight, and are important for energy metabolism and a part of DNA synthesis.

Organic Maca

Discovered over 2000 years ago, maca is found only in high elevation areas of the Peruvian central Andes.  The root color of this plant ranges from white to black with about 13 identifiable shades each one with its unique therapeutic and nutritional benefits ranging from fertility support to stamina promoting properties.

Maca contains many amino acids including all of the essential ones and many of the non-essentials. It is rich in minerals, vitamins, fatty acids, and antioxidants. Maca has tremendous hormone- balancing properties and adaptogenic properties, which means that it works with the body to either raise or lower many metabolic functions depending on where the levels should be.

Maca tastes like roasted chicory root, which tastes a little bit like coffee.  The Andeans used it as a drink to boost circulation, strength, energy, and overall well-being, although it is not a stimulant like coffee. It is a life-changing superfood.  After all, the Incans wouldn’t have been able to build Macchu Picchu living off of processed foods!
